Synopsis: This sweeping, melodramatic saga of a powerful father, and his two sons, presents an honest view of the rugged life and goals of a simple farming family against the lush green agricultural lands of modern day Punjab.

When Sohan Seth (Dalip Tahil), a shrewd businessman, convinces many beleaguered farmers to sell their lands for his commercial interests some by using the violent tactics of the village's heavy hand, Nirmal (Romeo) it shatters the harmony of village life, and Dayal's family is jeopardized. Dayal Singh and his sons are locked into a battle of right; each is focused on their path to success. The brother's are pitted against each other with a different outlook of land and its value as the crisis in the village unfolds. The ground at their feet, is it Motherland or simply Property? It spin tails them down a direction they can never return from, leading to a shocking turn of events as their women Priya (Dia Mirza) and Titli (Nauheed Cyrusi) add to the drama and conflict. Synopsis: So, what can happen at a funeral? Even, if it's the funeral of Daddy Cool Douglas Lazarus? It's in Goa, tears, sad speeches, melancholia... right? Wrong! When... The coffin makers deliver the wrong body.
Good Son Steven Lazarus (Suniel Shetty), an aspiring writer tries to give his father a decent funeral by delivering a eulogy…that includes a description of the rivers of Goa. Having flown in first class younger brother Brian (Ashish Chowdhry), suave, successful and much admired writer from Mumbai, not ready to share responsibility for his mother, saying "He barely has money to support himself and his dogs." A rather "comfortable'' estate agent Pinto (Vijay Patkar) tries to close a house deal for Nancy (Aarti Chabria) Steven's wife who is trying to get away from her mother-in-law Mrs. Lazarus (Suhasini Mulay) , who though just bereaved, lives up to her title admirably.
A prospective groom Michael (Aftab Shivdasani) to a cousin, Maria (Tulip Joshi), nervous about meeting father-in-law to be (Naseer Abdullah ) comes in completely spaced out because of a hallucinogenic drug given to him out of Maria's junkie brother Harry's (Chunky Pandey) bottle of "Relaxo."
A knife-wielding suspicious Jenny (Kim Sharma) finds her husband Carlos (Javed Jaffrey) pleading forgiveness from the red- hot model Ayesha (Sophie Chodhry). While the model, told to bestow her favours on a man in a black suit, in order to feature in an ad film, finds herself in a room full of potential employers.
A repulsive spit on hands and flick back hair, Roadside Romeo kind of aspiring boyfriend, Jim (Vrajesh Hirjee) thinks that even a funeral is an opportunity to impress Maria.
A doddering old Uncle Murphy (Prem Chopra) in a wheelchair believes in practicing "rapchick" to get the girls...
And then enters a "Blackmailer" Andrew (Rajpal Yadav) who has a scandalous secret about the deceased Douglas "Daddy Cool" Lazarus (Sharat Saxena).

Anubhav – A not so pleasant experience

Synopsis: Anubhav (Sanjay Suri), Antara (Shruthi Seth) and Aadi (Anoop Menon) are products of the Bombay theatre academy who nurture big Bollywood dreams. But reality soon dawns upon them that those dreams are not to easy to fulfill. Anubhav during his struggling mission encounters Meera (Gul Panag) who excitedly declares that she is his fan. The twosome fall in love and get married much to Meera’s rich parents’ wishes. The theatre guru Ibrahim Vakil (Jackie Shroff) now becomes their sole patron. Meanwhile Aadi manages to get a producer for his film which is supposed to be an adaptation of famous Shakespearean play, Hamlet. The film starring Anubhav in the main lead gets stuck midway owing to an untimely demise of their producer. At the same time Meera runs into some pregnancy complications which in turn lead to an extra ordinary turn of fortunes for Anubhav. All these problems drive Anubhav to become a gigolo who trades his body to sex hungry woman in return of money. But as he solicits his clients, he imagines them to be characters in a movie till he gets to a point when he cannot differentiate whether he is a gigolo, an actor or an ordinary man.
The basic premise of the film is really interesting since its topical and such things do happen in present times in Bollywood. But once the situations are established and Anubhav turns a male prostitute, the film losses its way. You also stop caring much about the characters and simply can’t relate to them. Then there is this melodramatic angle forcibly thrown in about Anubhav’s new born daughter’s illness and how Gul Panag thinking their daughter is dead. Also what were the makers thinking when giving those lines for Sanjay Suri to mouth when he is narrating his sex worker experiences? Simply cringe worthy. Agreed the film may be inspired from real life sequences but why be so direct?
While direction is so-so by Rajiv Nath, the other departments also hardly impress. Aadesh Srivastava’s music is plain ordinary. Amongst the actors only Gul Panag delivers while Sanjay Suri with his limited set of expressions just doesn’t. Jackie is simply wasted whereas Shruti Seth, Raj Zutshi and Sudha Chandran hardly have meat in their roles. Anoop Menon is fair.
Having suffered this Anubhav (experience) we would like to tell you that it is not really a pleasant experience to under go. Watch at your own risk. -Sampurn Media
